Join us for two days of mind-bending physics and engineering! Our Physical Sciences camps are designed to get kids' hands messy and their brains buzzing with "how does that work?" moments.

Unlock the Science of Light & Symmetry

Step into a world of infinite patterns! In this session, students become optical engineers as they explore how mirrors are used to reflect and refract light in spectacular ways. This isn't just a craft project; it's a deep dive into the physics of optics.

• The Build: Students will engineer their own high-quality kaleidoscope, learning the geometric precision required to create perfect symmetry.

• The Personalisation: Use professional materials—including our signature glitter wraps—to make the scope your own.

• The Object Lab: We don't just use beads! Students will experiment with 3D-printed gears, crystals, and nature-based elements to see how different shapes and textures change the optical output.

• Take it Home: After a day of experimentation, students select their favourite "Elite Mix" of objects to be professionally sealed into their kaleidoscope for a lifetime of patterns.

Wednesday, April 15th: Magic Moneybox

A Journey into Illusions and Engineering

In partnership with eyeheartscience, we are bringing the "Magic Moneybox" to the lab! This camp focuses on the intersection of physical science and the art of illusion. Students will be challenged to build a device that appears to defy the laws of physics.

• The Illusion: Using the principles of reflection and angles, students build a "magic" box where coins seem to disappear or float in mid-air.

• The Science: We explore the concept of Pepper's Ghost and how our eyes can be tricked by light and mirrors.

• Skills Developed: Fine motor skills, following technical engineering diagrams, and understanding the properties of light and reflection.

• Take it Home: Every student completes their own Magic Moneybox to take home and amaze their friends and family!
